Fine Arts, Humanities, and Social Science Electives

Each student in the Mechanical Engineering program is required to complete 18 hours in fine arts, humanities and social sciences.

6 of the required hours must include:

  • Select One:
    • HIST 20003 – History of the American People to 1877
    • HIST 20103 – History of the American People 1877 to Present
    •  PLSC 20003 - American National Government.
  • Select One:
    • ECON 20103 - Principles of Macroeconomics
    • ECON 21403 - Basic Economics:  Theory and Practice

The remaining 12 hours must be selected from the list below and must include 3 hours humanities, 3 hours fine arts and 6 hours of social sciences (one course from each social science list). 

 Notes/Exclusions:

  • Students may not take both ECON 21403 & ECON 22023.
  • Students may not take both AGEC 1103 & ECON 2023
  • Students may not take both AGEC 21003 & ECON 20103
