2023 - Mobile Configurations from the UA Computer Store
We are working with the campus computer store to develop a standard laptop configuration to ease the purchasing process. Using the below recommended hardware should serve you for years to come.
Note - Apple Mac Computers
Almost all of the software used within the Mechanical Engineering Department is incompatible with Apple Mac computers. There is no workaround that would allow a Mac to be used. Due to this, Mechanical Engineering Department strongly recommends that students do not purchase Apple computers for students pursuing a Mechanical Engineering Degree.
Note: Running Windows via Boot-Camp on Mac computers is NOT supported. All Mac support will be handled by third party providers – The UA Computer Store is the Apple Authorized Service Provider for the Fayetteville campus.
Below are 2 recommended configurations to run Mechanical Engineering applications.
Mechanical Engineering Minimum Recommended Configuration.
